- Product Review (submitted on June 30, 2016):
Well, I have a fine gun in this Steyr L9-A1. I love its ergonomics, its natural pointing.
I did a bit of beyond Steyr recommended tuning but I am a competent ex armorer. I polished every working surface to a mirror sheen and tuned my springs a bit. The result is an absolutely grit free smooth and safe action, ready for IPSC competition.
I would not encourage anyone going beyond field stripping and cleaning unless one is a competent gunsmith. However, in my case I have a light and crisp action shy of 4 punds. With a couple of thousand rounds through the action will further settle in and I expect to achieve a 3 lb. trigger as an end result. This gun will take the place of my S&W M&P Pro 9 for IPSC Production Division.
