The new SX stocks available for the Steyr CL II offer ergonomic design and durability in a lightweight synthetic platform. Polymer inlays in the grip as well as for end of the stock ensure enhanced grip in dirty and wet conditions and the aluminum bedded system offers maximum stability and ensures accuracy.
The bold Steyr Mannlicher target logo design is included on the bottom of the pistol grip and the stock is available in green.
Good rifle, needs some more options Review by Mark
I bought the CL II SX model in .30-06 with iron sights. Overall it's a nice rifle. I would prefer it to have the set trigger which I know is an option listed in the owner's manual. It also needs a second sling stud for bi-pod use. As of now I have to remove my sling when using the bi-pod rather than just keep it mounted when carrying. Finally, would be nice if the muzzle was threaded for a comp or suppressor as they could move the front sight a bit to accommodate a threaded muzzle. (Posted on 4/2/2016)
Excellent hunter/sniper rifle. Review by Mark S.
I bought the CL II SX "Half Stock" in .30-06. The drop down menu on here is off quite a bit with the options and someone needs to update that. There are actually 5 different models of the long action rifles and 1 model of the magnum action rifles. The barrel on the "Half Stock" model is 22", not 23" as the ad states as that would be for the "Magnum" version. The Half Stock version has iron sights and a medium profile sport contour barrel that is a little heavier in profile than a traditional sporter contour. If you want a near medium profile barrel with a 20" barrel get the "Semi Weight" version. Stock is rigid polymer and has a full length aluminum bedding block. Some things I think should be added; the barrels should be chrome lined as these are replacing the SSG, the barrels all should have threaded muzzles even with iron sights, all rifles should have a second sling stud for mounting a bi-pod, and finally- since this is Steyr, the CL II series should also have a set trigger as it is an option from the factory but probably has to be custom ordered. For what these are, you'd have a hard time building a custom Remington to this level for this kind of money. Thanks, Mark. (Posted on 11/18/2015)
